Soccer in the Mountains

Do snow and soccer really go together? Well, if you live in Utah it does. It snowed 4 weeks in a row this year in October and that made for some freezing cold games to attend. The boys did really well and toughed it out - good job guys!

Katie is no "fair-weather fan"! She is under there somewhere. I think she was the dryest and the warmest one at the game. Karen, Doug and Gavin tried to stay warm and dry too.
Not even the bad weather can keep the kids from snack-time, a capri sun and fruit snacks are always welcome!

Eathan is the one in yellow, all of the kids were soaked to the bone, it was so wet!

Gavin's game was not as wet but it was still freezing cold! We had hot chocolate instead of water on the sidelines - the rules can be bent when you are 5!
Notice the blanket wrapped around one of Gavin's teammates, her dad brought her this day and he didn't think to put a coat on her. I had an extra baby blanket so we bundled her up in that. Needles to say her mother was shocked when she arrived. I guess there is a reason the term is "Soccer Mom"!

Tyler played soccer this year, too. On one of the Saturdays, Carolyn called and asked what we were doing. I told her watching Tyler's soccer game and she said "It's snowing, it's not soccer weather." At the same time in Texas, it was perfect soccer weather, especially for watching. Tyler game off the field thirsty and sweaty.
