Katie broke her arm on Sunday the 17
th while we were at a neighborhood party. She got plowed over buy her big brother and some other kids playing chase. I of course thought she was just bruised and would be fine. Monday she was in the car most of the day running errands and then inexplicably puked in the afternoon (from pain the Dr told me later). Then Tuesday I dragged her to the school so that I could go to a PTA meeting and get some PTA packets out together. She was fussy (not like Kate) and she kept holding her arm. When she started to fall flat on her face instead of using her arms to stop herself I finally figured out something was wrong! So Wednesday morning I took her to the ER and the DR thought it was fine but decided to x-ray it anyway because she said "Mom' s usually know when something is wrong" (I know, I am a slow mom). Sure enough it was broken so it was a splint for a week and then a cast for 3 weeks. Lucky for us Ryan told us that there are waterproof casts and so we requested one of those and voila! Here we are!

In the ER

With the splint. This thing was awful because we could not get it wet and it was huge! She tried to take it off a couple of times when we were in the car she started to unwrap it! Eahtan stopped her both times~good job E, I would have hated to have to go back to the ER!

With her fancy new cast. This thing can get wet! She was able to swim and bathe as usual - it was a life saver and totally worth an extra $40!

Poor baby. You know we are slow too at our house. I can't believe the cast is waterproof. That is a great invention. I love her glasses and pigtails. She is a doll.
PS. Did she puke in your new car. I know you guys like to combine the two a lot. new cars & puke.
