A Little Bit of History

How my Great Grandfather joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

In Tennessee (1925) some LDS missionaries had stopped by the home of Miss Ora Webb. She is the sister of my great grandfather William McKinley Alexander. She thought that the church was true but her husband wouldn’t let her join. After giving the Book of Mormon to her brother, he read it and requested to be Baptized. Grandpa worked as a share cropper and soon moved to Southern California to work in the orange groves. A few years later, his wife joined the church and was sealed to her husband and children in the Mesa, Az Temple in 1929. (There were only 4 Temples dedicated at that time. Today there are 124)
