One Hansen, two Hansen, three Hansen more? Martin Hansen Eathan and Gavin and Katie's 3rd great grandfather discovered the Hansen Cave, the first of three caves up TimpanogosMountain in 1887. The story says that he was cutting wood and found mountain lion tracks that he followed to the cave. Martin's son and grandson discovered the middle cave in 1921. Marin was with them and he was 73 years old.
Can you see the family resemblance? Martin Hansen and his great great great grandson Eathan Hansen. E-man made sure that our tour guide knew his name was Hansen too and that they were realted!
The hikers included: Darrin, Jessie, Eathan, Gavin, Katie(ride-a-long), Preston, Ryan, Heidi, Austin(ride-a-long), Brandon, Andrea, Brook, Tyler, Nick(ride-a-long) and Andrea's brother John. It was quite the crew and we had tons of fun.
All of us enjoyed the tour given to us by the best tour guide ever, Nancy! She had all of us enthralled with the entire story and we all hung on her every word.
